FQH project on Organic Milk Quality and Human Health In 2008 the Department of Biodynamic Agriculture of the University of Kassel started a project on Organic Milk Quality and Human Health. The FQH Board approved this project as a FQH project, after the positive recommendation of the Scientific Advisory Committee who had the opinion that the project does “perfectly fit in the concept work of FQH. “ FQH publication “Organic, More Healthy?” now available on this website Organic feed leads to a more alert immune system. Chicken, fed with organic feed, showed a lower weight and a stronger recovery of their weight gain after an immunological challenge. These remarkable differences are the main findings in the study “Organic, More Healthy? A search for biomarkers of potential health effects induced by organic products, investigated in a chicken model”. The full report (in Dutch with an English Summary and Table of Contents) can now be downloaded on this website. FQH Scientific Workshop in Modena (Italy), 17 June 2008 On June 17th, 2008, FQH members had an inspiring Scientific Workshop in Modena, Italy, prior to the IFOAM/ISOFAR conference in the same city. Theme of the Workshop was to strengthen FQH as a real Working Research Society and to make steps towards a joint Research Agenda of FQH. The final concepts of the two FQH-papers, started in 2007, on Product Quality Research and on Animal Feeding Experiments were discussed, and in the afternoon a state-of-the-Art of Research by FQH members in the field of Organic Food Quality and Health was presented. With this in mind a first draft of a joint Research Agenda of FQH for the field of Organic Food Quality and Health was discussed, as well as intentions and possibilities to design joint projects. A summary of the Workshop is published on the Members Area of this website. The presentation on the State-of-the-Art of Research is published on the Research page of this website. |
