Demystifying the Organic Standards
4 March 2010 at Glachbeg Education Centre, North Kessock, Inverness
In conversion to organic farming? Considering converting to organic? Want to know more?
This training workshop will translate the organic standards into everyday language.
You will learn what records you need to keep and how to prepare for an organic inspection.
We will explain the requirements for managing organic livestock
The importance of conversion start dates will be discussed

Nutrient Management and Planning for 2010 - SAC Demonstration Farm Walk
Tuesday 9 March 2010 from 11.00am to 3.00pm at Broughton Mains, Whithorn, Newton Stewart DG8 8HD (Courtesy of the McKay family)
The focus of this farm walk will be „Nutrient Budgeting‟ and Alex Sinclair [SAC‟s Senior Consultant in Environment & Design] will be on hand to discuss issues arising.

Nourish Event
Friday 26 and Saturday 27 February 2010 in Stirling
Places at the event are limited and they are keen to get good geographical representation so they apologise if you do not get a place this time but you will be prioritised at any future events. If you have already registered you do not need to do so again.
On February 26 there will be an informal programme of visits and discussions in the afternoon, followed by a meal in the evening. On Saturday 27 they will be discussing both how to strengthen our local food culture in Scotland and how to organise the network effectively. Nourish is interested in all aspects of sustainable food production, distribution and consumption in Scotland, and the workshop topics include: Skills and jobs - who will grow, cook and sell our local food?; Connecting consumers and producers - sourcing, labeling, distribution, co-operation; Social justice - how does local food address inequality and food poverty; Modeling a low carbon resilient local food system
