Windshiel Farm Open Day
12 August at 1.30pm at Windshield Farm, near Duns, Berwickshire by courtesy of Ted and Sharon Baker.
Windshiel is the Scottish trial site in P-Link phosphorus supply in organic systems and you will be able to see the trials in action. The Bakers also have organic hens - layers and have recently invested in an on-farm processing unit for red meat and pork butchery which is nearly up and running. Certification issues, the practical issues in setting up the unit and  marketing options for this type of enterprise will all be looked at.

SAC Organic Farm Walk - Clover Day: Organic Systems in Practice
Tuesday 29 July, 1.00pm (sharp) at Orquil, St Ola, Orkney (Courtesy of A & P Casey)
Converting to clover based systems is the key theme of this event. See a clover system in practice: using nitrogen from clover, ground mineral phosphate, potash and shell sand, red clover / hybrid ryegrass mix, high clover mix reseed & barley grown with no chemical fertiliser
